Panic Attack Symptoms - What to Do If You Start Having a Panic Attack Panic attacks can make you feel miserable, they can also make you feel like your dying, even though you may feel this way, you are NOT dying and the more you panic the worse off you are going to be.

When an attack occurs we usually don't try to calm ourselves down because that is essentially the last thing on our minds. When you get a panic attack try breathing naturally and relaxing as much as you can to help ease things, fighting a panic attack is like an exorcism. It really depends on your actions when you get a panic attack.
Panic attacks are usually triggered through stress and anxiety. Most people don't know this but stress and anxiety can lead to a lot of health problems, I would know because my wife is in the hospital right now and has been there for 3 weeks.
Your best bet in reducing the amount of panic attacks you have is to figure out what "triggers" them. Some triggers are more serious than others such as someone being afraid of leaving their bed every morning just because they don't want to get infected with the germs that float around.
When a attack strikes you have 2 options, remain calm or go crazy and scare the crap out of yourself. The longest recorded panic attack lasted 120 minutes (2 hours) but usually they will surpass in approximately 20-30 minutes.
Always remember to breath when an attack occurs and try to be as relaxed as possible, you could always have a brown bag and practice breathing in and out with it.
